Experience and continuing work at providing one-on-one intensive daily or bi-weekly tutoring in math skills, reading comprehension, writing, reading fluency, study skills and academic organization for K-12 and beyond, as well as experience in editing for books, business novels, classwork and other writing for adults.

Program-specific tutoring in one-on-one sessions with students from kindergarten through college age. As consultant, developing and updating student lesson plans and conducting in-person and written updates to review student progress. Training tutors in update and consulting work. Experience working effectively to target and adapt programs for reading, writing, comprehension and math to the specific disabilities or needs of students.

Implementation of the Lindamood-Bell learning program in one-on-one sessions with students from kindergarten through college age in hour sessions. Training in conducting testing battery for student intake/outtake. Increasing proficiency with LiPS, Seeing Stars, Visualizing & Verbalizing, On Cloud Nine and Talkies introductory program and strong experience applying programs effectively to individual needs of students.

Documented daily improvement and tracked behaviors at work sites for each client according to client’s Individual Plan (IP). Supervised and trained crews of 4-6 developmentally disabled clients at contract jobs in Boulder County. Encouraged clients to develop independence in work and social interactions and to work within site-specific quality standards. Modeled acceptable social and physical access of the community. Successfully redirected clients engaged in behaviors or when endangering themselves. As a Primary Counselor, updated client-specific Assessment and Summary work for 8-10 clients bi-annually.

Completed 11- month program as AmeriCorps mentor in Boulder County. Worked directly and in office hours each day with class of 20-30 seventh grade minority students in Boulder County middle school. Coordinated after school program and provided individual tutoring for 2 hours each day. Tracked student grade progress on Excel for caseload of 10-12 students and met with Dreamers, teachers and parents to discuss individual’s academic goals and progress. Prepared fundraisers and charity events, completed office tasks and gathered supplies for program activities. Scheduled college tours, job shadowing, field trips and extracurricular program elements.

Through an AmeriCorps education and national service program, committed to an 11-month program volunteering and mentoring at-risk adolescents in the "I Have A Dream" Foundation of Boulder. As a tutor and mentor, I worked with 25-30 7th graders in a Boulder county middle school, building relationships with teachers, parents, my students and the community. For my case load of 12-15 students, I developed curriculum and personal life goals, track academic progress, provide enrichment and field trips into the community, and to foster growth and confidence through supporting the success and independence of "Dreamer" students.

Implemented the Lindamood-Bell program in one-to-one tutoring for 4th-8th grade students at clinic. Tailored Lindamood-Bell activities to challenges of students with dyslexia, ADD and reading difficulties. Led multi-sensory instruction for spelling, phonemic awareness and pronunciation and general learning exercises. Tracked student’s improvement with progress tests and wrote reports on each student’s session and overall progress.

Supervised youth of ages K – 12th in residential and week- long away camp programs. Prepared and led activities and curriculum, including science experiments, arts and crafts, lake swims, hikes, field trips and sports.
