Key projects:- Replacement of a centrifuge for Hyperimmune processing with consequences to supply chain and under a compressed time schedule- Design and construction activities for the refurbishment of the R&D Labs- Qualification activities for the QC Chemistry department to support sampling for the AstraZeneca vaccine- Setup and handover of a new person-down alarm system- Upgrades and qualification of HVAC systems supporting temperature-controlled warehouses storing dangerous goods- Design and construction to expand the QC Immunochemistry Laboratory- Implementation of a standalone controller to maintain environmental conditions of a stability chamber upon monthly changeover of compressors- Qualification of GxP/non-GxP equipment to support various functions on site - Procurement of new assets for the Utilities department

Key projects:- Upgrade and automation of a growing Adelaide cheese plant (Mar 2017 - Dec 2017)- Conceptual design and sourcing of a chocolate melting tank for a Victorian ice cream manufacturer (Jan 2017 - Mar 2017)The work across these projects included:- Acquiring knowledge of dairy processing, dairy equipment, milk pasteurisation, CIP systems and ASi controls.- Conceptual design and suggested revision of P&IDs in AutoCAD and equipment lists.- Estimation of capital and engineering costs with project timelines.- Procurement of process equipment such as pumps, valves and instruments, including their sizing and specifications for suppliers.- Supervision of daily tasks on site with contractors, including welders and electricians.- Participation in a project HAZOP as a scribe and process designer.- Installation and commissioning of valves, pumps, instruments, other I/O and pneumatics for automated sequences.- Development of SOPs for training operators and managers on site on use of HMI control panels and equipment maintenance.

As part of my involvement in the 2016 Student Vacation Program at DIAL, I was seconded to the Chilled Operations Manufacturing Plant of Bulla Dairy Foods at Forest Street, Colac. I conducted a 12-week project of a technical nature at the site with supervision from both Bulla and DIAL, concerning the updates of P&IDs and equipment lists and the investigation of opportunities to optimise processing on the bulk cream lines.My duties and responsibilities included:- Comparing and visually inspecting the current systems and processes to currently used P&IDs on site- Implementing updates to the P&IDs on CAD drawings, and cross-checking with reliability engineers and plant managers- Performing updates to equipment lists to account for newer installations and updated P&IDs- Recommended a system to Bulla on how to frequently manage process updates- Performing a freelance investigation for opportunities to optimise processing on the bulk cream line based on external research and internal consultation with operators and plant managers- Concluding recommendations on systems for updating site documentation, processing caps and preliminary estimates for cost savings on heat exchanger operation - Preparing a final written report for submission to Bulla and DIAL at the conclusion of the 12-week period- Maintaining professional liaisons and promoting the interests and reputation of DIAL
