Waterloo Rocketry is a student team that designs, builds, and launches rockets capable of reaching altitudes of 10,000-30,000 ft. The team competes annually against over 100 university teams from around the world at the Intercollegiate Rocket Engineering Competition (IREC) in New Mexico.I joined the team in 2015, and by 2017 led the development of the team's rocket engines. I was responsible for the design, manufacturing, and testing of the engines.During my time as the propulsion system lead, the team won a number of awards: - 2017: Jim Furfaro Award for Technical Excellence at the IREC - 2017 and 2018: 1st place in the 10,000 ft Student Researched and Designed (SRAD) Hybrid/Liquid Rocket Category at the IREC - 2018: 1st place ANSYS Design Analytics Competition - 2019: 2nd place in the 30,000 ft SRAD Hybrid/Liquid Rocket Category at the IREC

• Contributed to development of a Monte Carlo program (PENTrack) in C++ for simulation of neutron electric dipole moment experiments• Ran neutron simulations on a supercomputing cluster, and analysed results• Wrote a Verilog program to process a signal of proton beam intensity with a Filed Programmable Gate Array (FPGA)• Developed a procedure for creating 200 nm thick coatings of polyethylene and polystyrene in a class 1000 cleanroom
