Formerly part of Group Network Strategy, a re-org has seen my role subtlely change to investigate more heavily the financial rather than technological implications of major strategic decisions regarding BT's networks.The dynamic UK telecoms market with rapidly changing technologies, convergence options, competitor builds, partnerships, and evolving regulation means there's never a dull ask, just challenging questions with a wide scope and impact.In essence my role is developing into one of; "what course of action is best financially for the BT Group?" and "what alternative actions should BT take in the event of the market changing?"

Representing Prospect members of BT Technology units as part of an industrial relations committee.

Part of the Network Economics team helping to optimise major fixed broadband rollout programmes such as Broadband Delivery UK, by cost, coverage, and speed. This role covered a wide variety of technologies, demanding a keen eye for detail to manage the interplay between overlapping and complementary solutions.

3 separate roles as part of a graduate rotation scheme, covering Network Research, Modelling, and Benchmarking.A variety of projects such as; data mining broadband faults, software testing, mapping broadband coverage, and creating a model to project TV Whitespace rural broadband potential.

Preparing and completing the tax returns of small and medium businesses, dealing directly with clients, and studying for the ATT tax qualification.Did subsequently pass the ATT exams with a distinction, but preferred to get back into the computing industry.

This time-limited contract based at BT's research centre in Ipswich, required me to help create a prototype system able to analyse the long-term wellbeing of vulnerable persons living alone. I was responsible for creating algorithms used to interpret behaviours and events as a result of sensors triggered in the home.
