Senior Tax Analyst
Current- Responsible for daily reviewing and balancing of client tax files produced throughout the year using dedicated CIBC Mellon electronic tax system, ensuring all totals – including client dividends and interest payments.- Communicating and consulting with other internal CIBC Mellon departments to validate tax adjustments (Income Disbursements), system production of tax forms, reports, tapes and any associated issues. - Coordinating any and all special tax production requests (Relationship Management/Special Jobs)- Compiling, balancing and submitting all weekly and monthly Receiver General tax payments to Canada Customs and Revenue Agency (CCRA) and/or Internal Revenue Service (IRS) tax remittances before deadlines.- Reviewing and filing annual tax summaries with the appropriate government bodies, adhering to legal deadlines.- Responsible for generating /submitting quarterly branch compliance reports and other daily department reporting to Management.- Performing user testing of the tax system and submitting relevant change requests due to system problems or limitations to Management. - Validating reporting specifications of system tax files, while ensuring the proper tax forms are used in production, are balanced and completed with the correct data as required by government specifications.- Coordinating and collaborating with the Bulk Mailing Team to ensure completed tax forms are sent out as per deadlines and in accordance with legal/client requirements as set by the CCRA and IRS.- Provide and support administrative processes through the production of manual tax forms, formatting error reports and validating discrepancies, responding to correspondence from legal and tax agencies, and participating in internal tax planning meetings.
