About Nicholas D.

Lively, driven, ambitious, dreamer. I love to learn and have practiced putting myself outside of my comfort zone in an attempt to experience as much life as I can. This has led me to a lot of interesting jobs, hobbies, opportunities, and adventures. I have been to 42 out of the 50 states, I've worked in film, music, retail, construction, food service, tech support, broadcasting, and was even an apprentice wine maker for a while (among some other interesting things). I enjoy fast paced environments that provide challenges and opportunity to work on interesting problems or something new each day. I excel at troubleshooting and my ability to learn new things quick and adapt to new situations with ease makes me extremely effective. You'd be hard pressed to find another professional that can move between industries with as much comfort as me, because I've spent years honing my skills and making them as transferable as possible. When I was training new techs at Geek Squad I always reminded them that I wasn't teaching them how to fix computers, I was teaching them how to troubleshoot and think critically, the foundation and bones of problem solving. If I only taught them how to fix computers or just showed them the solutions then that's all they would ever know. Instead, by teaching them how to find the answers on their own I helped them develop that into a skill they could take anywhere and be effective, efficient, and successful. At my core I am a problem solver, it's what I was put here to do and I love it. In the right environment I get to be creative, independent, and productive. The only thing I like more than creative problem solving is sharing that spark with others either as a team or in teaching/training others, it's one of the things I enjoyed most about working in film and IT. Some accomplishments from my time as an Advanced Repair Agent at Best Buy include being asked to write a technical walkthrough that was then shared internally to other repairs agents across the company. I also rose in responsibility quickly being promoted to full-time after only three months and six months later being asked to train other employees. I was also selected for a mentorship program called Harvest that takes engaged and promising employees and trains them for management roles.I firmly believe that your organization will benefit from my comprehensive and varied expertise.Let's talk about what's possible.
