Since I was young, my passions and interests geared towards working in the legal field in Washington DC, the heart of the American government. That passion has not changed as I am now closer towards achieving that goal. As a law student at Catholic University, I am part of their Securities Law Certificate Program and their Law & Public Policy Program. These interests have helped me explore various opportunities to learn the skills required to thrive in my legal career.I will be interning for the American Bankers Association this fall where I will gain firsthand experience of seeing how public policy and the financial regulation field intertwine. Last summer, I worked as a federal judicial intern for Judge William Martini in the United States District Court for the District of New Jersey. My legal research gave me exposure to key issues in law, including post-exoneration DNA testing, data privacy concerns with the Facebook Pixel on third-party websites, and how the Second Amendment is being interpreted by federal courts after recent Supreme Court decisions. During college, I previously interned at Congressman Christopher Smith’s Office where I realized the value of constituent services by those working in elected office. I have also worked with the New Jersey Department of Homeland Security and Preparedness where I researched methods for preventing terrorist attacks and presenting potential indicators to state officials. These experiences have bolstered me to perform up to the level of excellence that is needed to thrive in any environment.My skills in communication and my drive to support those in need will allow me to be an asset to you.
