CBRE is the second largest real estate services company in the world serving over 90 of the top 100 companies on the Fortune 100.As Building Operations Manager I am responsible for managing the day to day operations of A grade buildings which have included tenants such as CBRE's North Sydney head office, Vodafone's head office, Samsung, Lion, Aldi, JBL Hifi, Cisco, Jacobs, NSW Planning, UNICEF and NBN.Duties Include;- Promote, attend to and supervise the proper care of the building operations, systems, installations, facilities and finishes in accordance with owner/building policies and procedures otherwise in accordance with CBRE policies and procedures - Co-ordinate and maintain building operations optimum efficiency and cost effectiveness ensuring reliability and responsiveness to ISPT, building Customers requirements and statutory requirements - To instruct service contractors, supervise their attendance and monitor their performance at the building and ensure that remedial action is implemented without delay - Review tenant plans for proposed fitout and / or works and provide advice to Property Manager - To ensure orders are issued and invoices processed in the defined time. - Excellent time management and organizational skills with the ability to manage workflow and priorities and meet deadlines for several client contacts - Excellent attention to detail and high level of accuracy. - Maintain, implement and review Risk Management practices and risk minimization processes to actively reduce insurance premiums and liabilities. - Provide high level assistance and recommendations to property teams in respect of all technical matters - Be efficient with use of company resources and to ensure costs are considered against the office budge

Whilst working for JLL I was situated within a VMware corporate office providing a high quality service to meet the on-site clients needs. It would be my responsibility to ensure reactive maintenance was completed in the required time frame and planned preventative maintenance monitored and carried out. It was vital that I conducted meticulous site inspections to ensure the office space was kept up to standard. I was also responsible for planning office events for the Easter period and produced the graphic artwork to go along with these events.As well as fore filling my own duties I was also responsible for managing the cleaning team and receptionist.I thoroughly enjoyed working for JLL but unfortunately due to working holiday visa restrictions had to move on after 6 months. However my time at JLL gave me a great insight as to what is required from building management when assisting tenancies and this set me up well to move onto my next role.

This was my first role when travelling through Australia and therefore it was a short one as I was only in Melbourne for a few months. Although the role was similar in it's skill set to work I had done before the nature of the tenants was much different. The YWCA specializes in re housing women who have been domestically abused or have issues with drink or drugs. Therefore it was an eye opening role which gave me experience and knowledge about social issues rather than further developing my skills as a Maintenance Coordinator. I valued my time spent with the YWCA as it helped me develop my ability to adapt to a different set of people which is a key skill when dealing with tenants.
