Nicholas is currently a full-time Land Division Consultant at State Surveys in Adelaide, Australia. In this role, Nicholas advises on and manages land division projects for beginner and experienced developers looking to divide land within South Australia. Nicholas' ultimate career goal is to help change the way in which cities are planned; to increase value and amenity and to assist in moving them toward a sustainable future.He has completed a Bachelor of Urban and Regional Planning with honours at the University of South Australia in Adelaide, Australia. He has a strong interest in transport planning, particularly cycling and rail transport. He is also interested in planning for public spaces and urban renewal. Additionally Nicholas would like to learn more about all of the aspects of Urban and Regional Planning in Australia and around the world. In 2015 Nicholas spent a year in Germany where he completed three and a half weeks of work experience in the planning departments of two German city councils (Kamp Lintfort and Dortmund). Among the many tasks completed in the three weeks he also presented a PowerPoint presentation to his colleagues in Kamp Lintfort about the differences in planning legislation and processes in South Australia and Germany.In 2014 Nicholas travelled to Vietnam with a group from the University of South Australia for a Planning Study Tour. This included meetings with various planning departments in Hue and Da Nang as well as working together with students from the Hue University. In 2013 Nicholas completed a 12-week student placement at the Department of Planning, Transport and Infrastructure. In the past he has also worked at McDonald's as a crew trainer and at the Burnside Hospital in catering. Nicholas also volunteered for 2 years at the Burnside Primary School as a football and basketball coach for grades 4, 5, 6 and 7.
