Responsible for driving growth within FCC Environment’s Energy Division, focusing on opportunities that support local authority and commercial partners in achieving their carbon reduction goals. This includes identifying, assessing, and delivering viable projects such as district heating networks, private wire networks, and carbon capture, utilisation, and storage schemes. Additional responsibilities include developing new Energy from Waste (EfW) facilities, pursuing O&M tender growth opportunities, and expanding capacity within FCC Environment’s existing portfolio.

As New Business Development Manager, I have overall responsibility for identifying and delivering new tender and acquisition opportunities to expand the UK's waste treatment contract and commercial processing portfolio. My role as an effective Bid Manager allowed me to successfully position Urbaser to win the £MM annual Dudley Metropolitan Borough Council Operations and Maintenance Contract which commenced operation in February 2023. I was responsible for the final review of submissions which achieved a 100% evaluation and oversaw the entire mobilisation process including, but not limited to, program ownership, risk management, procurement of suppliers, and liaison between the client and outbound contractor. I identify new opportunities to the Board and oversee the entire bidding process for major waste management projects that meet minimum corporate criteria requirements and complement the existing portfolio of UK local authority contracts. I evaluate bid team-produced documents for completeness against evaluation criteria and client requirements, and make value improvements, including hands-on contributions to the writing process as required, to ensure a high pass rate,.I oversaw the acquisition of J&B Recycling in August 2021 and Biowise in May 2022, adding £30+ million of new revenue generated through a combination of 20+ local authorities and a significant commercial customer portfolio.I am accountable for all facets of the acquisition process, including multi-discipline due diligence, negotiation of SPAs and auxiliary documentation, and the development of investment committee papers to secure approval. I research and present diversification opportunities to the senior management team and am responsible for overseeing the realisation of new ventures as a Project Manager.Given my unique position within Urbaser and my 10+ years of acquired project experience, I also oversee the development of communication strategies and media releases for the UK.

As a versatile professional, I successfully delivered a significant infrastructure project while also leading the production of compelling waste treatment tenders in alignment with the growth aspirations of the company. As a Process Design Manager within the Engineering Design Team, I was accountable for equipment package design and the analysis of technical solutions for the Gloucestershire Energy from Waste facility. I oversaw the project lifecycle from construction to operations for the £MM construction project and was responsible for evaluating and refining the detailed design of the flue gas treatment system proposed by suppliers to ensure compliance with contractual and regulatory requirements. I evaluated contractor submissions to identify specification and design issues and assist in refining compliant, alternative technical solutions while coordinating the completion of the detailed design within budget and schedule constraints. As a Bid Manager for UK waste management projects, I was responsible for the review of tender documentation, the compilation of input from multiple disciplines, and the final review of consolidated bids. I lead on compliance management for each project ensuring that final bids satisfied the requirements defined by local authorities. As well as being responsible for the development of a library of written content, I also chaired "lessons learned" sessions to identify the strengths and weaknesses of each bid to drive continuous improvement.

As a representative of the JV for the Gloucestershire Residual Waste Project, I played a crucial role as a member of the negotiation and mediation team who successfully achieved Financial Close in February 2013. During the final stages of negotiations between Preferred Bidder and Contract Award, I was involved in the refinement and legalisation of technical schedules, including method statements, for inclusion within the main Project Agreement. I was responsible for coordinated efforts to secure both the environmental permit and planning permission, the latter following a protected process which included appeals at the planning committee level and at the high court. I took the lead in delivering a comprehensive public relations strategy, including a communications plan that involved a series of stakeholder presentations and strategies to counter misinformation in the media. In my role as Project Manager, I also took an active role in managing new tender opportunities, overseeing a multi-disciplinary internal resource, all technical and environmental consultants, and the entire tender process. I was accountable for ensuring the progression of live projects and the development of submissions that met all client requirements at each stage of the tender process.

As a graduate, I was hired to support the development of technical solutions in the UK, focusing on energy from waste, material recovery, and mechanical biological treatment technologies. I played a key role in positioning Urbaser to enter a joint venture with Balfour Beatty, which resulted in us being awarded Preferred Bidder status for the £700 million Gloucestershire Residual Waste Project and the £1.5 billion Essex Waste Partnership Waste Treatment Contract. I was instrumental in the multistage tender processes, including PQQ/SQ, ISOS, ISDS, and ISFT, contributing to the delivery of compelling bid writing content to meet client requirements. I was also responsible for preparing and delivering complex presentations to various stakeholder groups, using advanced communication techniques to ensure full understanding for all technical levels.
