Manage machining, final assembly, and test operations in Engineering Department that serves as the hub for developing and establishing new product platforms for high-volume production in other facilities in the U.S. and China. Direct team of four engineers, as well as co-ops. Lead department and project planning. Develop and manage seven-figure annual budget and multi-million-dollar project budgets. As a division leadership team member, accountable for efficiency and operation of production equipment and infrastructure needs.Leading Product Line Development / Launches and Innovating Manufacturing Technology• Direct all phases of new product development (NPD), including process definition, capacity and cost analysis, tooling / fixturing / equipment procurement and implementation, new manufacturing process design, timeline development, equipment / process validation and correlation, prototyping, and documentation / training of SOPs.• Collaborate with Design and Manufacturing Departments to ensure design production reliability and equipment / fixturing / tooling capabilities meet engineering specifications and market-driven goals.• Guide new product development process through APQP (DFMEA, PFMEA, Process-Flow, Control Plans, PPAP) activities to ensure safety, quality, delivery, and cost goals are met.• Design and implement new manufacturing technology to support strategic business initiatives (such as CMMS, MES, and Error-Proofing Initiatives).Optimizing Production Operations and Efficiency• Monitor existing production systems and equipment. Devise and implement strategies to cost-effectively and continuously improve production processes, systems, and design concepts.• Proactively utilize tools / methods such as Cellular Manufacturing, Lean Manufacturing, 5S, Kaizen, Value Stream Mapping, Statistical Process Control, and Six Sigma to help lower operating costs and strengthen production capabilities.
