The student team employed generalized extreme valuation distribution modelling and GIS techniques, parameterised by criteria related to storm surge probability, elevation above sea level (as a proxy for flooding susceptibility), and property and infrastructure valuations to assess different coastal segments of the town.- Worked with a small team of students to independently evaluate FEMA’s new Community Resilience: Implementation and Strategic Enhancements (C-RISE) tool intended to assist communities with assessing their vulnerabilities to and resilience/coping strategies for flooding.
