- Schedule and direct the work of Auxiliary and Control Operators to ensure the safe, reliable and cost effective operation of the plant and uninterrupted delivery of service. - Participate in the starting, control, operation, shutdown and inspection of turbines, pumps, boilers, generators and all associated equipment. - Monitor instrumentation for proper operating conditions, determine nature and cause of trouble and performs necessary corrective action to protect personnel, equipment, system integrity and maintain system efficiency and safety. - Perform regular inspection tours of the plant- Operate and perform routine operating maintenance and preventive maintenance, including cleaning of equipment (pumps, water conditioning equipment, etc.)- Train new personnel in operating procedures.- Direct and instruct operators in timely loading/ unloading of boiler to meet system load requirements, optimization, capacity and maintenance - Insure accuracy of submitted defective equipment reports.- Insure all personnel within the plant adhere to safety guidelines.- Insure proper "Lock-out/Tag-out" procedures are followed.
