During my time in ATO Finance, I was responsible for:• Conducting monthly reconciliation of working papers, including lease payments, expense accounts and asset accounts • Recording journal entries to adjust the general ledger as needed • Maintaining and updating the asset register• Testing assets for impairment and writing them off when necessary • Assisted with the stocktake of ATO capital equipment • Documented guidance papers for internal stakeholders on specific AASB standards such as AASB 136 (Impairment of Assets)• Assisted with the preparation of the notes for the financial statements • Commented on variances/discrepancies from reconciliations. This assisted with end of FY reports.• Delivered a training session for all staff on impairment of internally developed software• Additionally, I gained a solid understanding of SAP.
