About Nicholas Gongee

I love working with teams. Working with others make work enjoyable for me. If I can meet people that don't take themselves too seriously, but are also passionate about their work, that's the kind of environment I want to place myself in. I also love music, solving problems with clever solutions, and anything technology related. My hobbies consist of building helpful and/or silly software products, video games, mathematics, and writing/playing music.Problem solving with others is not only the most fun way to work, but is also one of the most effective ways to work as well. The majority of work in software development stems from coming up with a solution to a problem, and then designing how that solution will work. Coding is just an expression of that skill after the hard work has been done.Working with others allows us to break habitual thinking and see things from perspectives we didn't even consider. Everyone can bring something to the table, and that is what I love about being on a team with passionate people. Anything becomes possible with a few problem solvers working together.I learned how to teach through my volunteer experiences with special needs children, which is why I became a teacher in GATOR for Music, teaching UF students how to compose music, as well as the basics of music theory. It is also why I created a software service called EduAI, to help people use AI to learn new subjects of their choice. Teaching people often leads to people becoming better communicators, and in turn, better at understanding others.Communication is something that needs to be improved everywhere around the globe. Not only for people with special needs, because believe it or not, that is not a problem specific to them. Communication is something the whole world struggles with, and by focusing on understanding others, there are so many problems that can be solved. Whether they are ethical or technological, I want to contribute to making a understanding environment anywhere I go.
