Ca Prop 27 Data Analysis Project

I collaborated with four Data Science students from UC Davis to conduct a rigorous examination of Proposition 27's impact on California. Our study involved performing a cost-benefit analysis using a scholarly database to identify the segment of the population with a greater propensity for online gambling. Additionally, we evaluated potential negative consequences, including the possibility of an increase in homelessness, and explored the feasibility of using tax revenue from online gambling to alleviate the problem. To further enhance our analysis, we evaluated the likelihood of negative outcomes outweighing positive ones based on empirical data from other states. During this project, I was responsible for data collection, cleansing, and visualization using GGPLOT 2.We have made our project publicly accessible at the following link: https://github.com/Nicholasontheroad/2022_Election_Prop_27

(Final Project for ECS 162 Web Development) Collaborated with a team of three other UC Davis computer science students to develop "Education is Free Mobile and Desktop App" - an innovative application aimed at promoting free educational resources provided by the UC, including courses on edX. Our project showcased our expertise in frontend, backend, and database management. Utilizing languages such as React (JavaScript, HTML, CSS) and SQL for user database creation, we successfully completed the project as a valuable learning experience.
