Responsible for all hard armor (vehicle/aircraft systems, body armor inserts, tactical shields, fundamental materials R&D) development, validation, qualification, drawing package generation, configuration management, technical proposal writing, and production support. Directly managed three teams of program managers, engineers, technicians, and support personnel comprising as many as fourteen employees. Intimately involved in technical strategy decisions and responsible for technical execution of that strategy. Responsible for ensuring that all engineering activities meet all technical requirements while staying on schedule and on budget.

Responsible for hard armor material solutions development efforts including transition of PointBlank commercial hard armor products to Miami Lakes site and execution of ongoing government funded NRE programs. Managed a team of four engineers and one technician.

Continued responsibilities in same position after The Protective Group, Inc. was acquired by Point Blank Enterprises, Inc. in October of 2015. Responsible for proposal writing/generation, program management activities, and technical execution of multiple government funded development efforts. This included maintaining budget and schedule compliance with generation of periodic update reports delivered to internal supervisors as well as government customers. During execution of large, multi-disciplinary NRE programs, was responsible for management and execution of the armor materials system development, validation, and qualification subtasks.

Responsible for the technical execution of multiple small, funded R&D efforts, primarily dealing withapplication of materials technologies to solve unique armor application requirements. While not aprogram manager by title, much of the work performed in this period required the application ofsound program management practices and techniques.

Acted as the primary materials development engineer for platform systems, specifically aviation.Assisted in proposal writing and reporting to government customers on funded R&D programs,most of which were based on fundamental materials research as opposed to being application-based.

Aided in the development of a unique ceramic composite material for applications in the defense, wear, and molten metal handling industries.Coordinated and led ongoing development efforts directed toward armor applications.
