Growing up, I was naturally drawn towards creative endeavors. I learned multiple instruments, I studied cinematography at film school, and I've always had a knack for creating tabletop games off the top of my head. The technical side of these topics always intrigued me. Whether it was learning the patterns of musical scales, measuring the intensity of light on a film set, or contemplating the probability of dice rolls—I couldn't get enough. So, when I chose to go to college in my mid-20s, I searched for a field that would combine my desire for creativity with my tendency towards analytical/technical thinking. As I glanced through the course catalogue and looked at the majors being offered, I stumbled across 'Computer Science'. At first, I honestly didn't even know what that was. But, I decided to investigate and it ended up being one of the best decisions of my life. After my first class, I was completely hooked. Now, four years and a bachelor's degree later, I get to creatively solve problems every day as a software engineer... and I couldn't be more excited!
