Nicholas is a Chartered Surveyor with 30+years experience in the property industry. In the mid 90’s he formed a property investment firm acquiring assets such as Norwich Union House on King Street and property in the Castlefield Basin. In a JV he acquired a site on Centenary Way in Burnley, which was being developed for 85,000sqft of non-food prior to Tesco acquiring the site. At the same time, he was asked to open new stores for Sainsburys initially in Greater Manchester. Over 12years he worked exclusively on the company's multibillion pound property portfolio and store development plan in the NW and Northern England & Wales. Retained by Sainsburys through NHR Ltd he developed and implemented its strategy for site acquisition, planning, refurbishment and expansion. Nicholas also acted for Kelloggs for many years as well as other corporates, financial institutions and high street banksIn 1997 Nicholas set up the NHR Directors Pension Scheme of which he is Trustee along with eldest son Thomas. The scheme identifies and invests in commercial property across the NW and is always keen to discuss new opportunities.Nicholas’s latest venture is The Harvey Homes Group, a luxury homebuilding business established with Thomas, Director and equal shareholder. The business specialises in small to medium size bespoke developments of high quality homes across South Manchester and the NW. The company’s first project is 30 homes at Swan Green in Lower Peover, which is supported by Together and has a GDV of £15m. Nicholas and Charles Jarvis Ratcliffe have recently formed a commercial property development arm to compliment Harvey Homes. Charles is currently a under graduate at Salford University studying Real Estate. Paul Burgess formerly of the Emerson Group is helping drive the business forward and is working on a number of mixed use schemes together with Harvey Homes.RPG Strategic Land has been formed to acquire the groups development land pipeline.
