I stumbled upon coding.If you would have asked me 10 years ago what I would be doing as a career, I probably would have mentioned an astronaut so I could explore the universe or even a professional athlete. I never would have thought I could program or even knew what that was.Once I graduated high school I was unsure about my career path so I joined the United States Navy. I got extremely fortunate to travel the world experiencing many different countries. Once my contract was up, I decided to try something new and go to college. As I made my decision, I came to conclusion to step out of my comfort zone and try Software Engineering as my degree path. I enjoyed playing video games with friends before my military days, I said why not.I was mind blown at how far technology has come and how little I actually knew about it. I was drawn into the second I ran my first basic "Hello World" program. It was so simple but the thought of creating something bigger and more useful hooked me. I started as an intern position as a Web Developer, while in college. As an intern, I am learned the basics, how to code in both Front-end and Back-end development in JavaScript and databases like PostgreSQL. After the basics, I worked on refactoring the code base. At school I learn to code and program in C++, and also Java. I may still be fairly new to some other people, but I love learning about this career field and can't get enough of it.Currently, I moved up from an intern role to part time Junior Web Developer one while I finish up my last few semesters of college
