About Nicholas Jacobs

As a psychotherapist I have experience working in municipal government, non-profit, and private practice settings. I provide an existential-humanistic approach to counselling a broad range of clients and am informed by existential, narrative, phenomenological, and analytical/Jungian psychology philosophies.My doctoral research at the University of Alberta engages with existentialism (primarily Ernest Becker and Terror Management Theory), analytical psychology, and educational philosophy, and is broadly interested in the question of how living with an awareness of one's mortality influences how we approach life, most specifically related to the experience and nature of learning and becoming.
