I started my career 40 years ago in business and macro-economic research. Today, as HKTDC’s Director of Research, I provide in-depth analysis and advice on economic and trade issues, covering key industries and services in Hong Kong, the Chinese mainland and most major and emerging markets. I have a particular passion for East Asia economic development, especially China, Hong Kong and ASEAN markets. Prior to joining HKTDC in 2013, I spent six years at Standard Chartered Bank as its Asia Research Head, seven years working for the Hong Kong Monetary Authority covering both macro-economic and policy research, and 11 years at Merrill Lynch, finishing as its Asia-Pacific Chief Economist.I’ve been honored to receive accolades from Institutional Investor, Bloomberg, Asiamoney and Euromoney.
