The job is 50% travel/field work and 50% data analyst/customer service/ IT.I inspect, repair, and install mooring ropes on LNG and LPG vessels. Using a visual reference make quality judgements ( NDE ) on lines during inspections. Splice any rope that needs repair. Quality assurance while overseeing the installation. Ensuring shipyards follow company standards and procedures. Create and update tools to help in field and on the computer. Data side, we have a program that vessels use to submit all usage of their mooring lines. This includes a live database for them to connect to and view their systems. All mooring activity is submitted to our servers. We use sales force and X-Author on Excel to process the submissions and return reports/update databases. The program was launched by a small 4 person team. We became testers and IT specialist for customer support. I have international clients with poor internet connections on vessels. I have daily communication with 20+ ships, including trouble shooting, and process 1000+ Lines of data a month for them. We are writing the standard operating procedures on all these as well as they are new to the company.
