As the Permit Coordinator for Pike Engineering, I am the main point of contact for any telecommunications company working with us as their vendor. I am also the point of contact for various municipalities who I am submitting right of way permit applications to. This role requires me to manage the workflow of our general permitting team to ensure deadlines are met, and that the quality of the work we submit is up to our standards. Balancing multiple projects at once, I often have to reflect on what holds the highest priority and delegate tasks across my team accordingly. In this role, I collaborate frequently with our design team and our fielding team to ensure we have all necessary deliverables gathered in a neat and organized way.

In this role I worked independently using a variation of AutoCAD Map 3D to prepare drawings for right of way permits. These drawings displayed the proposed pathing for fiber optic cables and conduit that would later be installed in the work area once the permit is approved. This role required a high level of organization, time management, and critical thinking skills to be successful in.

In this role I developed the presentation of merchandise for stocking teams in over 1700 stores nationwide. I supported new, remerchandised and existing stores with complete and accurate sets of plans for a variety of master names, while meeting strict deadlines and standards set forth by management. Cooperation with my team and others allowed us to create thousands of planograms using JDA Space Planning software to keep stores shelves up to date annually.

As a bar back, I efficiently and continuously re-stocked the bar with liquor, ice, fruit, straws and napkins as necessary . Weekly, I took inventory of all alcohol in liquor cages and refrigerators for the Bar Manager to place reorders. General duties I performed were opening and closing the bar, cutting garnishes, clearing empty glasses and plates, and complying with special requests set forth by management.

In this position I oversaw construction and blueprints for jobs and assured requirements on builds were accurate, such as nail spacing, types of plywood and sheetrock used, and hangers being applied correctly. I met with clients on site visits to various residential buildings and created CAD plans for the architect from my surveys. Also, I would communicate with the architect about progress on job sites, CAD drafts, hardware that is needed on job sites, and ask clarifying questions when needed to further my knowledge.

As a Production Assistant, I set up all technical aspects of events held on the downcity Johnson & Wales campus. I control and set up the light boards, sounds boards, crestrons, microphones, etc. I’m also in charge of setting up room layouts with tables and chairs for the organizations using the rooms. Troubleshooting with electronic components while on the job has helped me develop my critical thinking skills.

I served as the Vice President of the largest club on campus, the University Involvement Board. This experience allowed me to lead a group of more than 50 motivated students throughout the academic year. Together we planned and executed numerous campus-wide events for thousands of students.

As an Orientation Leader I worked with a team of 30 other student leaders on my campus. I helped welcome over 2,500 students to Johnson & Wales, and introduced them to the resources necessary for them to be successful throughout their college career. My experience as an orientation leader taught me how to communicate effectively with others, meet tight deadlines, and how to have grit.

As the Films and Games Coordinator, I planned and executed more than 30 events for over 2,000 students at Johnson & Wales University. Events I planned were movie nights, bingo games, and trivia game shows. I communicated with an outside company to get licensing for films, and proceeded to advertise them with my peers on the University Involvement Board. Bingo games were planned from scratch by myself and my committee of 10 other students. Prizes, bingo patterns, and cards were all prepared by us each time we planned a bingo game.

As an architectural designer with MCM Design I have worked on and completed plans for numerous buildings, both commercial and residential. These plans include floor plans, elevations, detailed sections, site plans, and foundation plans. My experience here has taught me a lot about the structural components of buildings and building codes. Other experiences I have had here include surveying buildings, preparing zoning applications, and filing building permits.
