I work on the Injuries and Clinical Informatics team as part of the Global Burden of Disease study. I analyze raw clinical data from over 50 countries to create population-level disease burden estimates. I also help quantify incidence and mortality rates of 34 different injuries.Projects have included:- Estimating case fatality rates for vaccine-preventable diseases across different countries- Quantifying procedure rates for cancer patients and how they differ globally- Analyzing how blood transfusion rates in the United States have changed over time in 20 different disease categories- Quantifying the global unmet need for blood, and every country's blood excess or shortage

Staff member of the Data Team. Worked with our local organization in Nepal to analyze their raw data to find interesting and revealing trends and disparities. Presented our findings to the chapter. Published The Ethics and Inequity of HIV Treatment in Developing Countries in on-campus health journal. Helped organize the Rally for the Right to Health in Boston along with co-authored op-eds in the Tufts student newspaper.

Kathmandu, Nepal

Planned and facilitated health checks for children in a rural school as a pilot program to screen for potential health problems that were preventing children from attending school. Screened for malnutrition, vision problems, hearing problems. and anemia. Shadowed PHASE community health workers to evaluate PHASE's presence in the community and better understand the Nepali rural health system.

Santiago Province, Chile

Worked in the biotoxins department of the National Institute of Public Health, conducting a survey on the prevalence of arsenic in the population of Santiago. Used High Performance Liquid Chromatography and a questionnaire to analyze the magnitude and patterns of arsenic levels in the capitol city. Looked at the effect of geographic area, socioeconomic situation, and exposure to arsenic from the workplace.
