Planning and executing synthetic diamond research and development projects, leading to candidate for Most Successful Technical Project in BHGE Drilling 2018. One ongoing effort has already resulted in an industry first, truly engineered diamond structure. • Launched a new PDC technology which increased footage by 80% on average in the Wolfcamp Lateral, and decreased insert damage by >70% in Delaware Basin Vertical. • Filed 5 patent applications, and consulted on IP. • Led effort to implement new toughness and strength tests to better define new product needs. • Technical publication reviewer and advisor.

Led synthetic diamond research projects with a critical supplier while rebuilding the intercompany relationship leading to the first joint research and innovation efforts in 3 years + 2 joint patent applications in process. Implemented new statistics based evaluation technique cutting test timelines in half, facilitating quick learning and allowing quicker decisions on proof of concept technology. • Launched 2 new products. • Identified new product requirements via forensic analysis for US Land, Canada, and Saudi Arabia. • Managed product lifecycle. • Filed 3 patent applications, and consulted on IP questions and technical contracts.

Planned and equipped a brand new mechanical test laboratory. Acquired and executed design and construction projects for test equipment needed to support Baker Hughes Latin America Operations and Petrobras. Led a team of technicians to spec out systems, find local equipment, and install these systems. • Designed the 1st HPHT (30ksi + 400F) completions test cell for the Rio Research park. • Designed a variable flow rate + variable orientation production fluid flow loop. • Installed a high torque (250,000 ft-lb) machine, and tri-axial geo-mechanical test unit. • Coordinated collaboration efforts between Brazilian facility and Product Line Headquarters.
