As a resident advisor your job is to look out for the safety and wellbeing of your residents. With that comes the opportunity to get to meet a wide variety of students with different background and cultures. It is an awesome learning experience because you get to learn how to communicate with a variety of people. It also comes with a strong leadership role, as you are the person that an entire building of students looks up to. With that being said you have to set a good example and always act how you want your residents to act because it is a position in which you lead by example. You are also a person who residents will come up to with varying issues, such as feeling down due to a bad test score all the way to sexual assault. I have learned to be well put together and ready for almost any situation that could be thrown at me because after all I am in charge of over 500 residents and have learned anything is possible.
