- Field geologist working with Sibelco Nordic AS at their flagship nepheline syenite mine, Sjernøya, Northern Norway. - I compiled geological maps of the open pit mine and underground tunnels to assess the mineralogical variation in the deposit and the controls on ore type and quality. This is the focus of my dissertation, funded by Sibelco.

- Part of a five-person student group conducting geological mapping and field research on the island of Stjernøya in Northern Norway – Supervised by Prof. Adrian Finch.- Worked closely with Sibelco Nordic AS who controlled the underground and open pit mine. - Worked and camped in extreme conditions in the Arctic. - Compiled a fieldwork report highlighting the data gathered from this research and the interpretations based on the data – Received a First-Class Grade.- Presented findings to the Mining Institute of Scotland and received over £10,000 in funding from SEG, MES, and the Confederation of Scandian Societies.

- I worked as a research assistant to Professor Sami Mikhail at the University of St Andrews, and a PhD student.- I used XRF, EPMA, SEM, and sample preparation devices to assess the composition of granites through geological time, and how the nitrogen content varies as a function of atmospheric oxygen. - I received a first-class grade for this placement.Co-author of the paper entitled 'Stongly peraluminous granites provide independent evidence for an increase in biomass burial across the Precambrian–Phanerozoic boundary.'
