Nicholas graduated from UCT with a BSc Mechanical Engineering in 1987, and registered as Pr Eng in 1994. He worked in Plant Engineering in Tongaat Sugar refinery and Nampak corrugated containers. He worked in Baxter Diagnostics in Pharmaceutical projects in Switzerland, and in Oil refining in FFS refiners. The rest of his 30 years post graduate experience was in consulting as a designer and project manager. His projects experience was mainly Industrial, Petrochemical and Power plant, Building and Fire services. He has managed SOLMAT for 25 years as the founder and Principal Mechanical Engineer.
