Software Engineer Technical Lead for an engineering team developing Windows desktop application software. Led team through multiple SAFe Agile Program Increments. Gathered requirements from customers for analysis and design. Developed software designs, oversees coding, unit tests, and system tests. Debugged application software and documents system, subsystem, and software requirements. Performed hands-on programming and designs while simultaneously supervising team and project.Key Achievements:- Project managed the system development lifecycle, from conception, design, code, code reviews, test, QA, and deployment.- Served as Agile Product Owner, developing and maintaining a product backlog by collaborating with Product Managers, Release Train Engineer, and Scrum Masters. Led the team to produce about eight releases a year, containing application enhancements, upgrades, and new features.- Initiated the use of VMware virtual machines to debug and test multiple configurations of software simultaneously.- Ensured accuracy of budgets for projects by analyzing cost accounts and preparing estimates.Personal Technical Achievements:- Designed/implemented software (original/re-hosted code, fixes, and enhancements) written in VB .NET, C#, and C++ for a large Windows desktop application utilizing both COM and .NET APIs. The software was architected in UI (Windows Forms, WPF), business, and data layers. Persisted the software’s data in binary, text, and XML files as well as MS Access databases through ODBC. Programmatically generated reports from the software using MS Word.- Designed/implemented a generic C# tool to decode data elements of all types within large binary files using XML schemas. Once decoded, the file contents could be examined, and then different values could be quickly injected into re-saves of the files. The tool allowed for quick modification of the large files without having to invoke larger, slower applications that created/modified the files.
