In my previous roles as a hotel and resort General Manager, I achieved over 35 years’ of luxury travel industry experience covering 5 star city hotels in London and Australia, exclusive 5 star island resorts in the Maldives and Australia and in building our own tech focused travel wholesale and retail company in Cairns, Australia. My hospitality expertise and commercial acumen enabled me to lead various luxury resort teams and together we won many awards for outstanding industry recognition in a wide range of caterories. I am also highly experienced in the construction, refurbishment and pre-opening activities of resorts and the turn around of an operations profitability and succeed in the profitable expectations of our property owners and management companies. My strongest asset was in building a strong team of co-workers by first allowing a new team to lead me and show me what they know about their role. I provided trust in their professionalism and encouraged them to be the best they can, I supported and encouraged them to make their own decisions at all times.I had a very good grasp on the control of large resort budgets, and have the years of operational knowledge and skills on where to find areas we can reduce excess costs and areas of opportunity to increase revenues. During my career as a resort General Manager I was fortunate to build positive long standing relationships with key travel partners, guests, resort owners and work colleagues, these valuable relationships continued onwards in my moves to new roles. As a senior executive, I translated business objectives into successful strategies and developed robust, realistic business plans for the benefit of the resort owners, management company and for the long term carreer satisfaction of our co-workers. Today I am proud to say we have founded another new company in Cairns, Australia called YOTSPACE superyacht voyages. In addition to managing daily resort operations, I also oversaw the final construction and developed Standard Operating Procedures to set high standards. With my team and I we represented the resort at the major international trade shows and positioned it at the right price, with the right star rating, within the right markets to maximise occupancy. During this time, we developed strong relationships with local schools and encouraged guests to bring and donate English language reading books. Every year, we employed one local student and provided business mentoring.
