I also co-lead the Admissions and Access Committee, working with Brown University’s Admissions team to ensure equitable access to college preparatory resources and financial aid. SEE has since expanded to three other universities: Harvard, Bowdoin, and Stanford.Our initiatives include: • presenting and advocating for policy proposals to the Brown University President and Ad Hoc Admissions Committee• developing an accessible financial-aid website for students who struggle with completing FAFSA and CSS forms• meeting with the heads of Brown Admissions to develop essay questions and application language for the upcoming admissions cycle• volunteering and redistributing funds with local education-focused organizations, including Providence Student Union and Youth in Action -

May 2023 - Aug 2023Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, St. Louis, MoCoverCress Inc. is a biotechnology startup at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center campus, developing pennycress as an ecologically-friendly cover crop and source of sustainable biofuel. I worked on the Breeding and Genetics team for the IPREFER project in the optimization of pennycress, sponsored by the NIFA Grant, US Department of Agriculture. I conducted a genotypic and phenotypic characterization of an F2 population of pennycress, derived from crossing two unique germplasms. I measured and harvested pennycress populations, performed DNA extractions and PACE assays, and ran statistical analyses on height and genotypic data. I also used Microsoft Excel to design primers and SNP panels, and to compare phenotypic and qPCR results. I presented my findings at the IPREFER conference at the University of Minnesota.
