As the Class President, I was invited to serve on the Brown Alumni Association to represent Class of 2026 as future alumni volunteers and agents of Brown’s mission. My responsibilities are: • Interface with Brown upper administration and trustees to communicate concerns of equity and fostering community, including university relationships with Providence students and the recent Lifespan acquisition.• Serve on the Diversity and Inclusion working committee and the Life Design Programming advisory committee.

I have served as Brown University’s 2026 Class President for the past three years. This role includes:• Leading Class Coordinating Board meetings, organizing and promoting class and school-wide events, calendaring and budgeting activities, and managing vendor relations.• Harnessing student feedback, acting as liaison between university administration and class of 2026, and advocating for improvements in student life.• Interfacing with Brown Department of Public Safety, Student Activities Office, and Office of the President.• Serving as elected Ombudsperson across class boards - trained in restorative justice. Mediating and recommending conflict resolutions, and facilitating communications between boards.

I serve as the Co-President, leading Students for Educational Equity in state and national advocacy work. In this role, I have introduced H. 8202, a bill to end legacy admissions, into the 2024 Rhode Island General Assembly, and have spoken at press conferences and state hearings. I also co-lead the Admissions and Access Committee, working with Brown University’s Admissions team to ensure equitable access to college preparatory resources and financial aid. SEE has since expanded to three other universities: Harvard, Bowdoin, and Stanford.Our initiatives include: • presenting and advocating for policy proposals to the Brown University President and Ad Hoc Admissions Committee• developing an accessible financial-aid website for students who struggle with completing FAFSA and CSS forms• meeting with the heads of Brown Admissions to develop essay questions and application language for the upcoming admissions cycle• volunteering and redistributing funds with local education-focused organizations, including Providence Student Union and Youth in Action

I serve as a voting undergraduate member of the College Curricular Council on academic policies, such as departmental approvals, concentration requirements, and course credit hours. In this role, I also review proposed Independent Concentrations which fall outside of departmental lines and the Engaged Scholarship Certificate, a four-course program that teaches students how to equitably conduct research and work in local communities.

Organizer and Board Member for Class Action at Brown University. Class Action is a nonprofit fighting class inequities in institutions of higher education, focusing on challenging legacy admissions and career funneling. In the Fall 2024 semester, I co-chaired and led a conference on "Democratizing Elite Higher Education", the first nationwide educational equity conference for college organizers. The conference brought together 87 students from 18 universities to form a coast-to-coast coalition of education advocates. I have also edited policy memos supporting federal bills ending legacy admissions to be sent to Vice President Kamala Harris.

Led an Anti-Oppressive Studies Course for high school students on Biopolitics and community organizing frameworks. Created curriculum, including weekly social justice workshops on recognizing power and privilege, effective and safe protest techniques, and urban agriculture. Also maintained and taught with an on-site garden and led service projects, including weekly mutual aid food deliveries. Trained in transformative justice frameworks.Telluride is the most competitive high school summer program in the country, teaching students seminars on Anti-Oppressive Studies and Critical Black Studies.

The Bonner Community Fellowship is a selective fellowship supporting and funding top students in their civic service and engagement efforts. The Bonner Fellowship connects students with community partners, with whom they engage in volunteer and management work. I am working at Southside Community Land Trust, leading farm work and green education. In this role, I contribute to every facet of the farming process, including planting and harvesting crops, building farm equipment, and microweeding. I am also involved in community engagement, leading educational tours and community events, working with food banks and community refrigerators, and training volunteers.

CoverCress Inc. is a biotechnology startup at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center campus, developing pennycress as an ecologically-friendly cover crop and source of sustainable biofuel. I worked on the Breeding and Genetics team for the IPREFER project in the optimization of pennycress, sponsored by the NIFA Grant, US Department of Agriculture. I conducted a genotypic and phenotypic characterization of an F2 population of pennycress, derived from crossing two unique germplasms. I measured and harvested pennycress populations, performed DNA extractions and PACE assays, and ran statistical analyses on height and genotypic data. I also used Microsoft Excel to design primers and SNP panels, and to compare phenotypic and qPCR results. I presented my findings at the IPREFER conference at the University of Minnesota.

The SoCal Basic Needs Collective is a collective of 8 volunteer farmers. We partner with local farms to harvest fresh, organic produce and collect dry food for undocumented/low-income families in our community. The collective was formed in 6/2020, as families were housebound and unable to secure reliable assistance from food banks. Within the first year, we harvested and donated over 5,000 pounds of produce and dry foods.•Perform regular farm duties & make deliveries to families.•Contact immigration attorneys and local churches to identifyfamilies in need of our services.•Brand SCBNC online and organize online fundraising.•Post educational resources on food justice and insecurity.•Collect donations of personal care products from markets/ hotels.

The Youth Council (YC) works with local governance to identify and voice teen related problems in the San Bernardino County.• Direct committee oversight (environmental safety, foster care, toy drives, and community volunteerism)• Run meetings, create agendas and assignments for the 44 high school Youth Council members across the largest county in the United States.• Provide local schools with funding to support suicide awareness, mental health and drug abuse education.• Engage in the community election and cold called over 600 county residents to promote voting.

ESVI is a student and faculty advisory group that works directly with the administration and Board of Trustees to support an anti-racist culture and promote diversity and inclusivity within the Webb Schools campus.• Remodel core curriculum to include diverse narratives and recognize systemic racism.• Mandate anti-bias and equity training for all faculty and staff.• Create a safe social media space for students/staff/alumni to share views on BLM & DEI through videos, art, song, dialogue.• Establish an aggressive recruiting/retention strategy to hire, admit and support teachers and students of color.• Form campus affinity spaces for BIPOC students.• Organize assemblies around social and political topics.• Establish a school wide reading of “How to be an Anti-Racist”.
