I'm offering over 10 years in the medical field with 3 years running 911 calls on an ambulance and over 7 years in the emergency room. I worked at American Medical Response for 3 and a half years. During this time I was responsible for driving the ambulance and responding to 911 calls and interfacility transport calls put out by dispatch. I had my EMT and CPR card and would perform tasks within my scope ofpractice. Among driving the ambulance I was also responsible for being in the back and attending to the patients. My partner and I would switch off every other day as the driver or patient man. As the patientman, I was responsible for knowing different EMT protocols for different scenarios presented. I have worked in the emergency room department for over 7 years. I am responsible for getting vital signs, drawing blood, performing wound care, CPR, splints, suture setups, suture removals, cleaning rooms, cleaning beds, visual acuity exams, chest tube setups, lumbar puncture setups, conscious sedation setups, diagnostic exam setups, 12 lead EKGs, and stocking the emergency room with supplies. I work 2 to 3 days a week performing 12-hour shifts each day.
