Chemical Process EngineerAvertana Feb 2023 - Jan 2024Auckland, New Zealand• Designed, built, operated and developed two continuous processes based on CSTRs in series for neutralization and crystallization at a startup, scaling each process from 1 L to 10 L and implementing process control. • Designed and performed experiments on the processes described above, significantly improving lab practices through thorough experimental design, data analysis and automating data collection. • Conceived an innovative idea that led to spearheading a collaboration project with a research group whose process synergizes perfectly with Avertana’s. Utilizing this additional process theoretically increases Avertana’s overall process efficiency dramatically and converts one of Avertana’s processes from linear to circular, overall reducing CO2 emissions by 104,000 tons annually and saving over 10M USD per year for each plant built. -

This was achieved through stakeholder management, including teams of engineers and external contractors, managing timeline constraints with a changing production schedule, managing change control and managing the budget. • Integrated occupational and process safety management into the design, fabrication and operation of the equipment by developing the requirements specifications with stakeholder input from across all affected teams. • Organised and then led FAT, SAT and commissioning activities and wrote SOP and WIs for each new equipment installed. • Organized and chaired project meetings and attended upper management project review meetings to report on current and upcoming projects. -

I proposed a new generalization for the nusselt number to apply it to complex geometries. I also fixed the flow distribution problem by inverting the geometries and corrected the math from previous students with support from professors.
