Building a TEA/LCA offering that works for green startups - something that they own and understand, and grows with their technology and business.Also providing general process engineering advice and connections.

Auckland, New Zealand

• Designed, built, operated and developed two continuous processes based on CSTRs in series for neutralization and crystallization at a startup, scaling each process from 1 L to 10 L and implementing process control.
• Designed and performed experiments on the processes described above, significantly improving lab practices through thorough experimental design, data analysis and automating data collection.
• Conceived an innovative idea that led to spearheading a collaboration project with a research group whose process synergizes perfectly with Avertana’s. Utilizing this additional process theoretically increases.

Developed several models for the processing and refrigeration of flue gas using thermodynamic-based unit operations in DWSIM to facillitate techno-economic analysis and feasibility studies for an early stage carbon capture startup.

• Saved a total of ~$300,000 per year through enhanced process line reliability by successfully delivering projects, including 3 label applicators and an isolator. This was achieved through stakeholder management.
• Integrated occupational and process safety management into the design, fabrication and operation of the equipment by developing the requirements specifications with stakeholder input from across all affected teams.
• Organised and then led FAT, SAT and commissioning activities and wrote SOP and WIs for each new equipment installed.
• Organized and chaired project meetings and attended upper management project review meetings to report on current and upcoming projects.

Ghent, Flemish Region, Belgium

Research focused on scaling the manufacturing of HTS (high-temperature superconductors) with novel pinning centers (embedded nanoparticles). Unfortunately, this project was heavily impacted by COVID-19.

Canterbury & West Coast, New Zealand

• Experience in manufacturing process improvements and health and safety regulations - mapped site facilities and hazardous storage zones to ensure compliance with changing regulations.
• Participated in pilot scale trials for batch solid shampoo bars in 100 L vessel.
• Exposure to lean manufacturing and six sigma practices, through learning from senior staff members and company practices.

This project was focused on developing metal 3D printed heat exchagers utilizing TPMS geometries. I proposed a new generalization for the nusselt number to apply it to complex geometries. I also fixed the flow distribution problem by inverting the geometries and corrected the math from previous students with support from professors.
