This organization has an immensely diverse client base that requires the staff members to become subject matter experts in their respective tracks, and also tailor their instruction style to match the knowledge and personalities of the customers with whom they work. Within the organization, the majority of my formal responsibilities are split between training our customers and serving as a Compliance Evaluator for the Fleet Squadrons. Training -- As an instructor in the organization, one large part of my role is training our customers on the safe and effective utilization of the software and tactics in the aircraft. With the dynamic and dangerous nature of aviation at large, this is a very significant responsibility and is of the utmost importance for safe operations. Our client base consists of both US and Foreign Military Partners, and we have roughly 400 customers at any given time assigned to the organization for training.Compliance Evaluator -- My other role transitions me from the training side of the organization to the evaluation side. In addition to empowering our customers with technical knowledge and procedures, the squadron also has a small team of evaluators who have been hand-selected and groomed based on their reputation and intimate knowledge of the governing policies and regulations within the industry. On this team, I travel to the other Fleet Squadrons across the country to evaluate their operating procedures and program compliance. The evaluations require a great deal of disciplined planning, clear communication, effective teamwork, and a thorough knowledge of how our industry policies and regulations are applied in daily operations. Through this role, I gained a deeper appreciation for the importance of scrupulous accounting with sensitive inventories, the positive impact that can be observed when organizational practices are uniformly disseminated and enforced, and the essential requirement for clear and open communication with superiors when dealing with time-sensitive matters. Primary Track Safety/Standardization Instructor -- Within the squadron's Naval Flight Officer track, I managed the aircraft safety and qualification program for a team of 32 personnel. My responsibilities included ensuring completion of quarterly and annual rolling assessments prior to qualification expirations, publication library inventory, upkeep, and maintenance, and policy compliance. As the team leader, I was again responsible to our squadron's Commander for the effective, efficient, and disciplined operations of the unit.Detachment Officer-in-Charge -- Nearing the end of my tour with the squadron, our organization was asked to participate in the Farnborough International Airshow (FIAS), held in Hampshire, England. FIAS has a prominent and respected reputation within the aviation industry and routinely receives visits from high-ranking political officials and industry leaders alike. Being selected by our squadron's Commander to lead the detachment, I meticulously planned and executed the event, and was responsible for my team's wellbeing and participation throughout the week.
