• Build and maintain excellent working relationships with a range of stakeholders to beable to give informed advice and advocacy for Defence families, and in order to beable to see trends developing in a region. Logistics is a key component of Air Force capability that is integral to the mounting and sustainment of operations. Logistics Officers plan, establish, coordinate, maintain and manage logistics support and supply chain activities that contribute to capability and operations support in aerospace and joint military operations. Depending on the role, Logistics Officers may are responsible for the supervision and management of airmen and airwomen, civilian and/or contractor staff. Additionally, Logistics Officers frequently liaise with members of the other Services (i.e., Army and Navy), foreign military services, contractors, and civilians within the broader ADF. Directing Staff - Senior Training Officer
Instructors within Officer Training School are responsible for the delivery of entry level training to Officers within the Air Force. This position is obtained through a selection process of Military Officer's who have the experience, breadth and prior excellence in performance required to mentor, coach and instruct on military theory and practice in leadership, management, critical thinking and strategic guidance. As the Officer Training course is an intensive four month course, Directing Staff are required to provide valuable and critical feedback to Commanding Officer's on the quality of students, the quality of each other's instruction and provide direction on avenues for improvement whilst remaining cognisant of ab initio training objectives.

• Provide subject matter expertise on air terminal operations and road movements to Air Commander Australia through chain of command;• Act as Headquarters Air Command representative for all air and road movements matters.• Sponsor of the RAAF air movements publications;• Management of procedures for air and road movements in the RAAF;• Liaison with multiple internal and external agencies including Australian Customs Service (ACS), Department of Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF formerly AQIS), Defence Support Group, QLD Urban Search and Rescue, NSW Urban Search and Rescue, Civil Aviation Safety Authority, Thales Explosive Ordnance Services and Air Force Headquarters;• Ongoing governance, compliance and quality assurance of RAAF air and road movements support in accordance with a minimum of eight Australian and Defence specific publications.

• Command and lead the squadron’s largest detachment (approximately 66 members), including personnel, training, welfare and leave management;• Undertake air terminal operations in accordance with ICAO, CASA and RAAF air terminal operations policy and procedures;• Ongoing compliance and quality assurance of RAAF Amberley air terminal operations in accordance relevant policy;• Receive and prepare passengers, cargo, dangerous goods and baggage for air transport;• Liaison and co-ordination with multiple internal and external agencies including Australian Customs Service (ACS), Department of Fisheries and Forestry (DAFF formerly AQIS), Thales Explosive Ordnance Services, QLD Urban Search and Rescue, Tenix Toll Logistics and 1st Joint Movement Group;• Compile, process and present aircraft documentation including aircraft weight and balance, manifests and Shipper’s Declarations for Dangerous Goods;• Provide aircraft ground handling, flight services and aircraft replenishment support in conjunction with other base stakeholders;• Act as the officer in charge in the absence of OIC when required; and• Provide subject matter expertise on air terminal operations to chain of command and external agencies.

• Perform logistics standard assurance testing (SAT) on all Ground Training Wing subordinate units, 14 in total;• Ongoing compliance and quality assurance IAW Defence Supply Chain Manual;• Provide subject matter expertise on logistics governance and compliance to subordinate units and chain of command including wing business manager;• Manage logistics issues raised by subordinate units including entitlement variation requests (EVRs); and• Compile and provide weekly logistics capability briefs to chain of command.
