I currently work with a team of loan underwriters who are responsible for making lending decisions on our non-automated underwriting. Working closely with management on Underwriting policies and guidelines to ensure we are creating sound lending choices.

It is our main goal to increase loan growth for the Credit Union. My role is to help educate our staff while developing them to increase efficiency and job knowledge. We are responsible for the origination Consumer Lending which includes Automobile loans, Personal Loans, Credit Cards, and other various loan products. In 2015 my team was responsible for the origination of over $117 million in consumer loans; 26% of the departments annual total. While I look to grow on this number for 2016 we have also increased our staffs role in the department. My staff has underwriting authority for loan decisions, loan booking goals for VISA products, as well as non loan goals to ensure membership & asset growth increase throughout the Credit Union. In addition to supervising a team of 9, I also assist the department in training branch staff and employees in underwriting to ensure they abide by the appropriate lending regulations.In the past as a Supervisor Apprentice I was also responsible for analyzing both origination and statistical figures for the department to determine efficiency throughout the department. I would also create and update daily, weekly, and month end reports for the department which were reviewed by upper management to verify staffing needs and to make realistic goals for the department.
