Field Based

• Carrying out 1-2-1s with field engineers on a monthly basis for review of KPIs, personal development plans, business changes and target settings.• Performance management through a variety of systems such as Performance Improvement Plans, S.M.A.R.T plans and coaching sessions, weekly/daily feedback sessions with colleagues, weekly coaching sheets for the supervisor highlighting areas of focus.• Organising bi-monthly breakfast meetings and engagement sessions for the field engineers and preparing all the toolbox talks and latest information needed for the field.• Putting health and safety systems in place for the area, accident investigations (root cause analysis), near miss reporting, assigning Health and Safety champions in the field, environmental health and safety van audits and site audits, Hazard Assessment Tool breakfast meetings with our engineers and Health and Safety team.• Management of absence in the work place via the company policy (e.g. absence review meetings and investigational meetings for various absences), working with our employee relations officer/ human resources business partners for current employment law,.• Working and monitoring the P & L in areas such as engineer store card spend (purchasing trends, daily monitoring and performance management), fleet maintenance costs, third party contracting costs, equipment usage and overall finance management from a field operational point of view.• Working and supporting the central deployment centre (Workforce planning department) – supporting call centre staff, technical advice, efficiencies, schedule adherence and day to day running of a field operation, from a job deployment point of view.• Review and implementation of rotas, annual leave, headcount and forecasting for future deployment.

- Operating within a FMCG environment and ensuring that it complies with the latest legislative requirements.- Managing a fleet of circa 40 vehicles, 90 trailers and 64 operatives in a 24/7 operation.- Measuring productivity against key performance indicators, and looking for improvement opportunities.- Distribution of non-food items throughout the South West, South Wales including back-haul collections from suppliers for onward transportation to other DC’s within the network. - Maximise vehicle utilisation and drivers availability ensuring that planned journeys are cost effective and within current legislation in respect of drivers hours and vehicle maintenance.- Direct reports seven, which is to facilitate the management of a 24/7 operation and a £4.5 million budget.

Daily responsibility within a 24/7 operation for managing picking, loading and delivery activity of products and all bought in goods. To effect the smooth, safe and efficient running of the distribution department in order to maximize operational efficiency, whilst maintaining the required standards of internal and external customer service.Responsibility for ensuring operational functions within Transport are run within budgetary scope and meet legal requirements.
