As Chief Technical Director at Jacobs Buildings and Infrastructure for the Asia Pacific Region, Nick’s prime objective is to shift the culture of the business, driving innovation in winning work, building the external profile of the business and its technical leaders and using the global and regional expertise of the business to underpin future growth in buildings & infrastructure markets across APAC.

In this role Nick oversaw the successful development & introduction of an unprecedented number of new technologies to the UK rail industry as well as navigating the regulatory transition from the UK to the new European legislation.

Design ManagerAtkins Jan 1999 - Feb 2001London, United KingdomThe GBP120m, Euston Station Remodelling Project was the UK Rail Industry's first Alliance and the largest rail renewal project undertaken post privatisation. As Design Manager for the project, Nick was responsible for the delivery of all permanent works and overlapping staging designs to demanding project timescales, together with all necessary technical and statutory approvals from design through to commissioning. Design was carried out by 12 principal design organisations, employing up to 250 design staff located throughout the United Kingdom. The project was the successful pilot for rail industry wide Engineering Management processes and, as such, Nick was the first Contractor's Engineering Manager to be appointed in the UK. -
Engineering ManagerAtkins Sep 1994 - Dec 1998London, United KingdomEngineering Management roles on multi-disciplinary rail project throughout London, including 3 years on the first Extended Arm Contract for Structures Maintenance in the UK . As Engineering Manager Nick had overall engineering responsibility for the 400 odd projects undertaken and developed the engineering principles/framework for subsequent contracts. The team also developed a number of new & novel engineering approaches/methodologies that subsequently become standard practise across the UK including the use of finite element analysis techniques to assess existing structures and the use of self propelled transporters for bridge renewal.
