General Infantry Duties:Lead, supervised, and served as a member of an infantry unit of 10-20 soldiers. Employed individual weapons, machine guns, and anti-armor weapons in offensive and defensive ground combat. Laid field wire; performed basic communications functions and operated communication equipment; utilized camouflage to conceal weapons and personnel; constructed minor fortifications; performed land navigation; performed preventive maintenance on weapons, equipment, and some vehicles; made verbal reports; administered first aid; operated wheeled vehicles to transport personnel, supplies, and equipment. Served as a team leader, directing deployment and employment of personnel; supervises maintenance and construction activities; read, interpreted, and collected intelligence information; distributed administrative and training documents; trained subordinate personnel; evaluated terrain and supervised the emplacement of sighting and firing all assigned weapons; used maps and map overlays, performed intersection and resection, and determined elevation and grid azimuths.General Cavalry Duties:Lead, served, and assisted as a member of a scout crew/section, in reconnaissance security and other combat operations. Served as a member of observation and listening team; gathered and reported information on terrain features, enemy strength, disposition, and equipment; identified targets; requested and adjusted indirect and aerial fire; operated wheeled and tracked vehicles and communications equipment; used maps and map symbols; navigated on ground; used compass and distinguished topographic features; assisted in firing of crew-served weapons; used radiac instruments and chemical detection kits.
