Designed and conducted optical neural network and entangled photon optical communication experiments at Tulane University in support of the NASA Space Exploration Network Services and Evolution contract.Modeled the propagation of light with Python simulations to accurately predict results of optical neural network experiment using numerical methods.Assisted team members at NASA Goddard Space Flight Center in the development of quantum link budget tool for the advancement of free-space optical communication.

Worked in the Quantum Information and Nonlinear Optics group, Department of Physics and Engineering PhysicsCompleted all stages of experimental physics research by designing and constructing setups in laboratories, and performed computational simulations to obtain numerical results.Collected and analyzed data for over seven different projects related to free-space optical communication, entangled photon pairs, optical communication in atmospheric turbulence, classical/quantum analogies, and/or machine learning.Published results in four peer-reviewed publications (with two more expected within the next year), presented research at three academic conferences, and communicated with collaborators at over ten other institutions.

Oversaw approximately 120 total undergraduate service learners in the Communicating Science: Teaching and corresponding Service-Learning classes over the course of three semesters.Educated students about the history and ongoing issues related to New Orleans school system, and helped service-leaners develop their tutoring skills while they worked with community partner educational organizations.

Assisted K12 students with science fair projects, lead in school activities, lead outreach activities at Tulane sponsored events.
