As the son of a Middle Eastern personal injury attorney, I have been following rules and principles my whole life. I would consider why my father implemented these rules for a large portion of that time. I have evolved that curiosity and desire to know more into an insatiable craving to understand how things work and what rules they follow. I have spent countless hours dismantling old toys, tools, and machines to clean or take their parts and create something new. The skills I learned from these experiments were transferable to many areas of my life as my pursuits changed. These inherent skills and interests led my relatives to believe I might be interested in mechanical engineering. After some investigation, the description of a mechanical engineer looked very attractive and analogous to my nature. So, after High school I began my scholastic journey. Throughout my educational pursuit, I developed a workshop in my backyard to work on various projects. I built an eight-foot wood workbench, a propane forge, and an anvil stand, modified a table to become a rolling workbench with storage, made a Cuban link copper chain, and installed a few outlets around my house. Through one of my co-workers at my first job, I was introduced to the world of competitive cycling and became enamored. After researching the components, frame materials, and geometry of different bikes, I learned that there was much more to cycling than two wheels and some pedals. These projects and hobbies were a fun and educational experience for me, but I knew there was plenty of room for improvement, leaving me hungry for something more.My desires are unchanged. I still want to know how things work and why, but I want to use that knowledge to work efficiently and develop tools and methods to create something that helps myself and others.
