Lead business development staff member focused on airport concessions business development for Delaware North Companies (DNC) based in Buffalo, NY. DNC is one of the largest and most respected private companies in the US with over $3B in sales and employing more than 50,000 people.Responsibilities: 1. Repositioning the company in the industry. Created and enhanced the development and brand strategy for Delaware North’s Travel Hospitality Services Group. 2. Key player on division leadership team tasked with developing the strategic plan, budget and business plan for the airport division from 2009-2015. 3. Lead development person assigned to the largest and most high profile opportunitiesResults: 1. Secured wins totaling in excess of $1B in contract sales – Los Angeles, Atlanta, Austin, Minneapolis and various other airports. Top performing development person 5 years running. 2. Successfully negotiated numerous leases, subcontracts, joint ventures, and a portfolio of minority strategic partners. 3. Lead person in developing and implementing the DNC airport political strategy in most major markets (Los Angeles, Denver, Chicago, Atlanta, Austin, Minneapolis, Detroit, Wash DC). 4. Hired by the PE firm that had acquired both Le Petit Bistro and Bear Rock Cafe to do turn around work. With both concepts in decline, the initial focus was to manage cash flow, focus on core operators and locations, restructure the IP and corporate entities and update the franchise models for renewed growth.

Extreme Pita is a leading QSR chain in Canada with expansion plans in the US. I was responsible for developing a direct franchise system for US growth and managing an existing group of Area Developers. Created growth in direct franchise opportunities, moved Extreme Pita into College Campus' across ARAMARK and other contractors and helped further define the development process for the Area Developers with lead generation and site selection tools.

Responsible for creating and executing a non traditional development program for Quiznos with focus on college campus sites, airports, gas and convenience sites and various other locations. We were able to restructure the traditional Quiznos model to accelerate its growth in these venues. The result was the creation of a $200M division across 400+ high volume/profile sites.
