I have spent twenty three years in the Royal Navy and have submitted my twelve months notice and have eleven months left of that time. During the course of my career I have managed teams of up to fifty personnel, to achieve the multitude of goals that were given to me, whether that be long maintenance periods or short notice changes to program.During my time in the Royal Navy I have managed projects for the upkeep and maintenance of the ship, including forward deployed units, from the material aspect of the vessels down to the fire fighting equipment and the life saving equipment we use onboard, intertwined with this, ensuring all of my department and sub departments remain current with the relevant course they need to be able to remain able to go to sea safely. I have become qualified as a fire fighting instructor, a water safety equipment supervisor, a flight deck officer, a departmental safety representative, a working at height practioner, confined rescue team member, a slinger and a lifting equipment inspector. The highlights of my career have been bringing HMS Tamar, a batch two offshore patrol ship, out of build, this required alot of inter agency liason, to ensure all safety aspects and equipment arrive on time and are fit for purpose and my teams were current on any new equipment. I have also recently completed a NEBOSH Fire Safety course, with the aim to complete a NEBOSH Environmental certificate and NEBOSH General certificate within the next few months. Once I have had a few years in the industry, I intend to study and complete a level six diploma in Fire Safey. Previous to the Royal Navy, I spent four years at college, studying BTEC first award electronics, national diplomas in electronics and engineering and automotive engineering and was employed in a supermarket as a produce supervisor. I am keen to explore new jobs and roles that are available to me and look forward to commencing a new career as soon as is practicable
