Pathobiology program at Brown University studying inflammatory molecular mechanisms of sepsis. Utilized immunological techniques (e.g., flow cytometry and ELISAs), western blotting, mouse models of disease, in-vitro and ex-vivo primary murine and human patient immune cell assays, live-cell imaging, and fluorescence microscopy to evaluate immune checkpoint inhibitor expressoin (e.g., PD-1 and BTLA) on myeloid cell (macrophages and neutrophils) and lymphocyte (T-cells and B-cells) function in sepsis outcomes. Determined the effectiveness of immune checkpoint inhibitors as biomarkers for sepsis severity. Mentored and led research associates and undergraduate students.
