Research Assistant
I took up the opportunity to work with my honours supervisor on research based on my honours thesis. My honours thesis and research experience has involved analyzing arsenic atmospheric concentration in Bendigo and subsequently turning it into a publication for an academic journal. This project, gave me firsthand experience dealing with stake-holders in the community. I had to help negotiate access to the school for sampling and I got the opportunity to speak with secondary school students, to showcase what research I was doing. Additionally, it enabled me to develop a research skillset applicable to computational modelling and statistical analysis as well as computer programming using C#, MATLAB and R at various points.
