Nick Sion is a graduate of London University (UK) in Mechanical Engineering and Applied Physics. It was supplemented by an Advanced Math degree from Battersea College (now University of Surrey) . Post graduate work was done at Birmingham University (UK) for the Ministry of Defense on airborne radars. He worked on aerospace avionics projects designing landing systems for helicopters, navigation systems for the cruise; then was employed at Ontario Power Generation [OPG] designing radiation monitoring instrumentation, and on reactor control. His Tritium Monitors and Discriminating Tritium Monitors, Stack Monitors, and C-14 Monitors are operational at OPG and at Bruce Power nuclear sites. Sion has published 34 papers, and has 4 patents and applicationsSion was also a consultant with AECL for about 3 years on the radioisotopes program and the MAPLE reactors for the production of Technetium radioisotope for cancer imaging.
