I am an environmental scientist and Certified Environmental Professional based in Helena, Montana, with a Master’s Degree in Land Resources and Environmental Science and 20 years of experience working on natural resource, environmental planning, and remediation projects. I currently manage KLJ's western regional environmental team and am involved in projects throughout the Rocky Mountains and Northern Great Plains. My background is in soil science, botany, water quality, wetland science, and geographic information systems (GIS); and as a consultant I have had the opportunity to work on a variety of sites involving infrastructure and transportation planning, wetland and storm water permitting, environmental site assessments, NEPA documents, and brownfields redevelopment. Past employers and clients have included developers, non-profit organizations, mining, renewable energy and fossil fuel companies, Municipal and County governments, the State of Montana, Tribal Nations, Department of Defense, U.S. Forest Service, and the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency. I have been certified in hazardous waste operations and emergency response (HAZWOPER) since 2008 and have successfully closed numerous contaminated sites through the investigation and cleanup of soil and groundwater. While not at work I can be found spending time on one of the many rivers near my hometown with my wife and four kids.
