Nicholas presently works as a Cloud Systems Engineer for LS Technologies, where he acts in the role as the Client Care Representative and the Systems Test Lead. He is also the program's triage lead.Nicholas worked on Air Traffic Control Systems for Leidos (formally Lockheed Martin) since 2015. He has been promoted to Senior Integration and Test Engineer with the following primary responsibilities:- Track and report issues identified in the Customer's test program- Conduct triage and support on operational systems in the role of Duty Engineer, including off-shift and weekends- Interface between engineering teams and Customer's test team- Provide in person and remote support for end user acceptance testing of new software releases- Lead on-call/on-demand test support team of approximately 20 people - Draft Problem Reports and White Papers for system corrective action and enhancements, including modifying and adding requirements.Past responsibilities have included:- Development of Design, Verification, and Regression tests- Coordinate subcontractor software vendor deliveries and lead weekly subcontractor status meetings- Setup and lead New Hire training and engagement activitiesNicholas has completed Master's degrees in System Engineering, Aeronautics, and Human Factors and Systems. He has always had a passion for the aerospace industry, especially on addressing the NextGen challenges of the ever expanding system. Nicholas has published research concerning motion sickness and aerospace operations. His thesis for his Master's of Science in Human Factors and Systems degree was an analysis of training methods to prevent motion sickness symptoms caused by vection. This type of motion sickness correlates to systems experienced by both simulator users on Earth and astronauts in space. This research was used as a stepping stone for future motion sickness experiments at Embry-Riddle as it created human subject testing protocols for using the vection-inducing Optokinetic Drum as well as outlined a series of tests that were successful in identifying motion sickness symptoms. His thesis for his Master's of Science in Aeronautics degree was a Systems Engineering approach to identifying and providing recommendations for mitigating the weather factors that impact spacecraft during launch and orbital operations. This research was among the first to provide a comparative look at the meteorological impacts on spacecraft and the federal regulations covering spacecraft launches that were applicable at the time.
