Process EngineerPrimex Plastics Corporation Oct 2020 - PresentRichmond, In, Us• Designed several screw configurations, such as the small lot color concentrate screw currently operational on three lines, and a specialized 'soft screw' for metallic flake color concentrate applications essential to production. Additionally, developed a comprehensive screw design database to track all design changes and new developments.• Led a rate improvement project on large compounding and color concentrate lines, including barrel and screw changes, replacement, and process changes maximizing rates on three lines resulted in a hourly average rate increase of 17% over the last 2.5 years with an average increase of 1.2M lbs./year.• Led the development and implementation of a mixer scale project now operational across three production lines. Managed the project from conception to installation, overseeing implementation and conducting training for assistant operators. Collaborated closely with contractors for installation and electrical integration. Developed comprehensive work instructions for both assistant operators and foremen. As a result, the project has successfully eliminated first-pass reject material due to mixing errors since its installation.• Established a KPI database to monitor various metrics such as efficiencies, downtime categorized by type, production rates and quantities per production line, scrap generation per line, off-spec production, and completed orders per line.• Developed a scheduling assistant that incorporates specific product colors into our production schedule, optimizing color sequence and significantly reducing downtime associated with changeovers.• Managed scheduling for three small lot color lines, achieving a significant improvement in monthly on-time performance from 46.9% to 88.4%. This increase facilitated an average completion of 27 additional orders per month.• Responsible for emission monitoring with TDEC, leading yearly audit preparation and daily emissions data collection. -

Project Design Engineer:Performed the basic engineering design for refinery equipment; hydraulics, vessels, heat exchangers, pumps/compressors, utilities, etc.Hydroprocessing R&D:Operated and created procedures for hydroprocessing pilot plants. Experience working with PI interface, along with troubleshooting and optimizing excel based tools tasked with pulling pilot plant data. Also, I developed advanced module training for midlevel pilot plant operators to both assess their knowledge and aid in their career development. Technology Services, Hydroprocessing:Analyzed customer data and made recommendations on unit operations. Also created excel databases for analyzing customer data utilizing VBA. -
Process Engineering InternNeenah May 2016 - Aug 2016Alpharetta, Ga, UsI was the lead role on a 5S project for a piece of equipment that re-cut and re-wound paper roles to the correct size. The main focus of this project was to improve productivity by sorting and standardizing necessary tools and tool locations, providing the proper tools for the job and giving those tools a set location. Also creating a work space that allowed proper filing of paper work and increased desk space to fill out this paper work at the unit's location. Lastly, the unit was repainted and a cleaning schedule was established to keep the area neat and ultimately aid in increased unit productivity. -
